CURRENT MOON |
The first new moon crescent, with the presence of Abib barley reported, was from Israel in the regions of Kiryat Ata and Keren BeYavneh on March 31st at 7:25 and 7:30pm! An additional witness from Israel, Neria Haroeh, also sighted the moon from Ramla, Israel. Although, in some of these cases, a telescope lens was first used to locate the crescent, confirmation of the new moon was able to be made with the naked eye before the moon set within the hour after sundown. Additional reports continued westward.
This is the first time both calendar methods (Global and Israel-based observation) have matched one another in all regions geographically since this site has been up. This month will also correlate with the calculated Hebrew calendar allowing for a large portion of followers to be in unity.
NOTE: For Israel-based observers, the sightings in Israel are particularly early this month (28 days since last sighting) due to cloud cover the previous month. This is because Israel-based observers ignore any eyewitness reports from areas east - or outside - of modern Israel borders, which limits them to a very small window of opportunity for confirmation of the visible moon. This caused the previous month to be claimed as 30 days (by default) even though the crescent did exist over Israel on the 29th day based on eyewitnesses outside the geographical window (see last month's new moon report).

The second new moon of the Aviv barley will have a possibility of being sighted in the far reaches of the Pacific ocean near Hawaii on Tuesday evening, April 29th. However, first reports likely will not be made until the following day across the dateline. Israel-based reports are also not expected until Wednesday evening, April 30th.

Expected Observation Dates of Biblical Festivals 2014:
|
For 2014, the Aviv barley searches in the Fertile Crescent found no positive conclusions until prior to the new moon of March 31st, first reported from Israel. Therefore, the Annual Festival Dates will be as follows (all days begin at sundown the evening before date posted):
It then follows that the Seventh New Moon of 2014 will first be seen on Thursday evening, September 25th with first sightings around Australia. This new moon will mark the arrival of the Fall Festivals on the following dates for all locations worldwide. There is a possibility, however, that those following the restrictive Israel-based observation calendar method will be delayed by one additional day depending on sighting conditions. Dates listed below are based on a Global Trumpet Call (all days begin at sundown the evening before date posted):
If you would like to provide future reports, I welcome anyone to serve as witnesses to the sighting of the new moon crescent by submitting your sighting via e-mail. Together, as Yah's people, we can all be of one accord with the blowing of a trumpet to communicate to all of His people when the new moon has occurred (Numbers 10:10). We also attempt to post our own sightings and in a timely manner.
